Refer to the drawing for the approximate layout: At this time we are planning on having at least 5 stations. We will use vhf simplex 145.555 for communication. Bring a mask to wear when we are working in closer proximity to each other. We will need to maintain social distancing. It would be very nice to have a battery powered station, not sure what the AC power availability will be. Since we are coordinating with the regularly scheduled FLDigi net, and the park closes at dark, we will need to adhere to a schedule: Exercise Schedule 1800-1830 Setup at Wildwood Metro Park 1830-1900 Mesh to Mesh traffic, troubleshooting 1900-1915 Mesh to FLDigi practice on simplex 145.555 1915-1925 Play time (no phones, camera or the like, focus on MeshChat) 1925-2000 FLDigi Net 2000-2030 Tear down and exit A couple of things to consider: 1. There is a large open area there and several shelter houses so we can spread out. This is the parking lot where the Medical Tent is usually located for Glass City Marathon. We will assemble at the parking lot southwest of the Metz Visitors Center and Nature Observatory. The exercise will be held at Wildwood Preserve Metro Park. Receiving a message via AREDN Mesh and then send it to a receiving station over VHF using Flmsg and Fldigi. Manually generate a message in a standard format and send/receive it via MeshChat over AREDN Mesh network. Tuesday evening was chosen so that we could pass our traffic in conjunction with the weekly TMRA FLDigi net that takes place at 19:30 on the 147.270 repeater. ![]() We are moving forward with an exercise that will test our ability to pass messages in a standardized format (ICS-213, ARC-213, etc) across an ad-hoc mesh network using an intermediate VHF link via FLDigi.
